Nakagawa town, located in western part of Fukuoka prefecture, is a town with rich nature. Not only its wealthy nature but also there are other things that would get you fascinated.

It’s a historical town where you can find the oldest artificial irrigation in Japan. It is also known as a town of art where many artists who are attracted by its nature-rich environment come and settle down and art their artifacts.

Come join us on a bicycle riding tour to Nakagawa town, we’ll start from Hakata Minami station which is just 8 mins away from Hakata station by Shinkansen.
we have an English tour guide, so please feel free to join us!

We can get rental bicycles at out meeting point, Hakata minami-Eki Mae Building.

日本最古の人工用水路がある歴史深い町、緑豊かな環境に惹かれてアーチストや作家が数多く移り住んでいる、アートの町でもあるのです。

博多駅から新幹線で8分、博多南駅を出発点に自転車でのんびり那珂川町をめぐりましょう！
外国人ガイドも一緒なので、英語でも安心してご参加いただけます。
※自転車は博多南駅前ビルにてお貸しします。

Sakuta no unade 裂田溝

An oldest artificial irrigation in Japan built 1300 years ago, which still operates now.Length of 5km

約1300年前に作られ、今もなお使われている日本最古の人口用水路。
総延長は5キロほど。

Takatsu jinja (shrine) 高津神社

140 stone steps lead you to 20 scarlet-colored torii, a gateway at the entrance to a shrine. And you will find a shrine built on a gigantic stone.

20ほどの朱色の鳥居と140余りの石段が並ぶ。石段を登っていくと、巨石の上に建てられたお社が。

◎Artistic part◎

Minahata area is an area where many artists and writers have their ateliers.
We have an annual art event called “Minahata bijutsu sanpo “, an art tour to visit some ateliers in the area.

At this event, these artists open their ateliers to everyone which they are not usually released to the public.
We are going to visit some of them during our cycling tour and feel the art!

We can even enjoy our coffee time at one of the fantastic cafes in a breathtaking garden.

たくさんのアーチストや作家がアトリエを構え暮らしている南畑地区。
ここでは毎年、普段公開していないアトリエも一般公開をする「南畑美術散歩」というアートイベントが開催されています。当日はこのイベントに足を運び、いくつかのアトリエへご案内します。

田舎にひっそり佇む素敵なお店でランチやコーヒーブレイクも楽しみましょう。
